New Student Referral Program

The purpose of Thames International is to mold pathfinders that will drive positive social impact in this volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous world.

In these trying times, Thames has also extended its support on a national level by guiding and preparing teachers nationwide for the online learning environment.

But to date, there are still many students who have been negatively affected by the current pandemic and whose education has been stopped for one reason or another. Thames, as one whole community, can still reach out to these students and their families in order to provide them with quality education that may be accessible wherever they may currently be.

As a simple way of helping strengthen our nation and of giving back to our current students and their parents/guardians, our Thames-ESA alumni and lecturers and faculty members, and our affiliate marketing partners, Thames is launching its New Student Referral Program.

How It Works:

For every successful new referral, both the New Student and the Referrer (person who made the referral) shall receive a referral incentive of Discount Credit (for current students/parents) or Monetary Incentive (for alumni-referrer, lecturer/faculty member, affiliate marketing partner). The Discount Credit may be availed by the said individuals or their parents/guardians for tuition credit or graduation fee credit, whichever is applicable.

1. The New Student Referral Program is open to all currently enrolled full-paying students (SHS, UG, and PG) of Thames International, including their parents and legal guardians (for SHS students), as well as all Alumni of Thames/ESA (i.e. former students of Thames or ESA who have already completed their program/degree), all current Thames lecturers/faculty members, and all our affiliate marketing partners.

2. The corresponding referral incentives shall be awarded and be availed only upon the enrolment in Thames International for

a. at least five months of the New SHS Student, or

b. the first academic term of the New UG Student, or

c. the Diploma Program of the New PG Student.

The corresponding discount credit will be automatically deducted to the full payment of the New Student, while an E-Gift Card amounting to the same discount granted to the New Student, will be granted to the Referrer (for current students/parents), or the same amount as monetary incentive (for alumni, lecturers/faculty members, affiliate marketing partners). If the student-referrer is already graduating, the corresponding discount credit may instead be availed through the Graduation Fees.

3. To qualify, a “New Student Referral Online Form” must be signed electronically by the Referrer. This form shall be validated by the Office of Student Affairs before endorsing it to the Admissions Office. Once validated, this will be included by the Admissions Office in the New students’ admission requirements, which will be the official basis of the Student Services and Accounting Offices for granting the referral incentives to the concerned Referrers and New Students. This online form is available through the “Refer a Student” button on the school’s website (see below.)

4. Upon receiving referral information through the online form, the Admissions Office shall contact the referred new student/s by phone or email to confirm all information. The Admissions Office will then send an information packet to the prospective student and walk them through the application process.

As part of the Admissions Office procedures, all walk-in applicants shall be asked if they have been actually referred by any current Thames student, Thames/ESA alumni, lecturer/faculty member, or any of the affiliate marketing partners. If so, the applicant will be asked to remind the Referrer to submit the “New Student Referral Online Form” in order to avail of the referral incentives. If not, the new student’s application will be processed regularly, i.e. without availing of any discount credits under the referral program.

5. There is no limit as to the number of referrals a student/parent/alumnus/lecturer/faculty member/affiliate marketing partner can make; thus, it also means that the incentive per successful enrolee will just be added accordingly for the Referrer who made the successful referrals.

6. The referral incentives are officially granted by Thames to the concerned parties, the New Student and Referrer, once the former has officially enrolled as a regular paying student (i.e. submitted all enrolment requirements and paid all enrolment fees for five months for SHS, or for one term for UG, and for the Diploma Program for PG). The New Student gets an automatic discount on tuition, the Student/Parent-Referrer is given the discount credit to be used for Tuition or Graduation Fees, then the Alumnus/Lecturer/Faculty Member/Affiliate Marketing Partner receives instructions via email on how to avail the monetary incentive. Thus, the referral process is officially completed.

7. The discount credits are not transferable nor convertible to cash or any other forms, except for Graduation Fee discount for graduating Student/Parent-Referrers or Monetary Incentive for Alumnus/Lecturer/Faculty Member/Affiliate Marketing Partner who made the successful referral.

FAQs:

When can I make a referral?

Anytime. As soon as the Admissions Office receives a referral via the New Student Referral Program online form, the referred student will be contacted so the soonest possible academic term/intake he or she can enrol will be determined accordingly.

What are the referral program incentives?

The amount of discount credit to be received by both the New Student and the Referrer will always be equal and will be based on the New Student’s level upon entering Thames:

SHS – 4% of the total tuition fees for the New Student’s first 5 months (more or less P800)

UG – 4% of the tuition fees for the New Student’s first academic term (more or less P2,400, if full load)

PG – 3% of the tuition fees for the New Student’s Diploma Program fees (more or less P2,000)

*If the Referrer is graduating already and won’t be able to avail of the discount credit for enrolling to new term/level, the amount of discount received by the New Student he/she referred will be the same amount of discount that he/she can avail when paying for his/her graduation fees.

*If the Referrer is a Thames/ESA alumnus/lecturer/faculty member/affiliate marketing partner, the incentive will be a monetary amount equal to the discount received by the New Student referred.

Can any of the referral program incentives be transferred, deferred, or converted into cash?

No. The referral incentives may not be converted into cash and may only be availed by the two students officially involved in the referral process and be availed on the first term that the new student has enrolled. This is also true if a Referrer has made more than one (1) successful referral during the same academic term. Thus, the applicable incentives will just be accumulated accordingly.

However, if the successful referrer is a Thames/ESA alumnus/lecturer/faculty member/affiliate marketing partner, he/she will receive the monetary incentive equivalent to the discount received by the referred new student.

Which program levels of the school is the referral program applicable?

This referral program is applicable to Senior High School (SHS), Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) levels. The Student-Referrer and the New Student may come from either the same or different levels mentioned (SHS, UG, PG), but the discount will always be based on the New Student’s level upon entering Thames for the first time. Thus, the New Student may not be a returning student of Thames or ESA from any other grade/year levels.
